Guidelines and Instructions 


  • Member MUST be in good standing with the Simcoe County Home Builders Association 
  • New Home, Renovation, and Design project entries must be located within The Simcoe County Region
  • New Home entry pricing must be inclusive of net HST and the market value for the lot; should question arise regarding the category for which any entry is submitted, the member company must be able to substantiate price-point upon request 
  • Winning entries from a previous year are NOT eligible to re-enter in the same category
  • Previous projects deemed a “finalist” ARE ABSOLUTELY eligible to re-enter the same category 
  • To qualify for a Renovation Category, the General Contractor must be a RenoMark Renovator 
  • To qualify for a New Home Category, the General Contractor must be registered with Tarion 
  • New Home, Renovation, and Marketing Awards will be presented to the “General Contractor” of the project 
  • General Contractor is defined as being responsible for coordinating subcontractors involved in the project
  • Design Credit will be presented for New Home, Renovation, and Marketing categories to those SCHBA members whom the General Contractor wishes to recognize as having made a significant contribution to the design of the marketing material or building project.  If an SCHBA member made a significant contribution to the project, please recognize their work. Limit of two design credits per entry
  • If a supplier or sub-trade wishes to submit an entry into a New Home, Renovation, or Marketing category to receive Design Credit, they must receive consent from the General Contractor.  General Contractor must be a member, and will receive the Award should the entry win
  • Design categories are open to submission from any member company 
  • Acceptance of submissions received is at the discretion of SCHBA
